FANKEY

Connecting fans with their favorite celebrities.

In 2016, Fankey was the very first startup ever incubated by my product design firm, Kinetic Theory.​ We met founder Ian Thompson​ through mutual connections at Capital Factory, Austin's primary startup hub.

FanKey was a subscription based entertainment platform that let influencers and celebrities engage their most avid fans. Based on behavioral science research performed by Fankey, it was determined that around 1-2% of an influencer's fans and followers fall into the category of superfans, and would be willing to spend money on additional content. Fankey allowed influencers to monetize this fanbase by providing a private feed of scheduled content available to paid subscribers.

Kinetic Theory provided a turnkey product management and design solution, acting as Head of Product for the team and managing both internal and external resources to concept, plan, fundraise, design, and manage the development of the product.
